The Stillman Foundation for Disaster Relief is a Rhode Island non-profit corporation formed with the express purpose of helping those in need due to natural disasters here at home and abroad. It was formed just days after Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast.
This disaster is considered by some to be the deadliest in the United States in over a century.
The Foundation was formed by Barbara Stillman. The initial Board of Directors consists of herself; Lisa Konicki, Executive Director of the Greater Westerly-Pawcatuck Area Chamber of Commerce; Janie Carlisle, Board Member of the Rotary Club of Westerly; Cristina Azzinaro, local attorney and friend of Barbara; and Thomas Trembach, one of Barbara's employees.
